Steve Cohen

Steve Cohen - Board Chair

Stephen is a successful Tatura dairy farmer with a long history of community involvement in the Goulburn Valley region. Stephen has been secretary of his local LandCare group for the past nine years. Stephen also spent 17 years as a director of an agricultural co-operative and is the current chairman of GV AgCare, a position he has held for 15 years.

 

Chris Thomas

Chris Thomas

Chris is currently employed as a Regional Manager for the Milk Supply Group with Fonterra Australia Ltd in Northern Victoria. Chris is responsible for managing the company's milk supply and farm services in the region. Chris is a present member of the Murray Valley Rural Industries Assistance Group committee.  

Peter Gray

Peter Gray - Company Secretary

Peter Gray has lived in the Goulburn Valley for the past 20 years. He has an accountancy degree and is a registered Certified Practicing Accountant. Peter is currently works as a finance manager for a major horticultural business, previous to that he was a farm management and business consultant with a large agricultural consultancy firm in Victoria. Peter is a current member of the G V AgCare committee and owns his own farm.

 

Chris Howe

Chris Howe

Chris Howe is a Chartered Accountant and a partner in Belmores Accounting based in Yarrawonga. Chris has a broad acre farming background and is involved in many community organisations including rural financial counselling and the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program.

Nerida Kerr

Nerida Kerr

Nerida Kerr is currently employed as Rural Community Development Officer with Regional Development Victoria (RDV). Nerida has a farming background, studied Social Work and has a certificate in Dairy Farm Management. Nerida was a founding member of the Upper Murray Rural Financial Counselling Service in 1991 and remained actively involved and has been chairperson of North East AgCare Inc since 2000. In 1995 Nerida was awarded the ABC Radio, North East Victorian Rural Woman of the Year.

 

Tim Mannion

Tim Mannion

Tim Mannion has been a mixed farmer and agricultural contractor since 1949 with a wealth of experience and involvement in agricultural and community organizations. Tim has been a member of Murray Valley Rural Industries Assistance Group since 1986, Chairman from 2003 to present. Tim was Citizen of the Year for Moira Shire in 2006.

Helen McGowan

Helen McGowan

Helen was invited to join the board on account of her skills as a community lawyer and experience in the community service organisations. She has an interest in enhancing service delivery to regional Victoria and in her paid work with UMFC she supports workers in regional programs (mediation, financial counselling, family support, legal advice). Helen and her husband run a beef farm in the Indigo Valley.

Brian Thompson

Brian Thompson

Brian is currently employed as a Community Relationship Manager for the Department of Primary Industries. He has 25 years experience as a natural resource management professional including senior roles in forestry, biodiversity and catchment management. He has previously served on the Boards of the North East and Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authorities, Mt Stirling Alpine Resort, and Alpine Valleys Agribusiness Forum, and is currently on the Board of the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program. In 2002 Brian completed the Australian Rural Leadership program. He lives on a small property near Wangaratta with his wife Jacqui and 3 children.
